SPS and Water flow

Water flow is important for SPS as well as lighting and water stability. Two of them is also important
but I think Water flow is more important than lighting at least...

This is thread of Water flow in RC

Let's talk about water movement in an SPS tank.

This is a little bit long but I think it can be summarized..

1. Water flow is very important as well as water stability and lighting.
2. Making no dead spot and every polyp in all SPSs reaction is more important
than a few high flow or many low flow..
3. Everytime coral grows bigger, Tank owner should change the quantity and direction of water flow
for SPSs survival..

I asked my opinion to Joe (JBNY) and here is his answer...

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.

Your summary is good. I would add that it is important for the corals to all receive good flow, Flow does not have to be strong as long as you can observe individual polyps moving. Also, you do not have to change your flow every time the coral grows, but you must watch for corals growth blocking flow to other corals and be prepared to change the flow if needed.

Good Luck!
