ZeoMatic2

2010/02/18 20:43

http://reefbuilders.com/2010/02/15/zeom ··· video%2F

Do you remember that Zeomatic 2 we showed you not to long ago? To refresh your memory it  features a self cleaning system with both water and air cleaning.  Plus, you won’t need an extra air pump as the reactor includes aquabee pumps that handle the job quite nicely. Now normally you would have to  pay the retail for the Zeo Matic 2. Which for the  2.5 liter ($1,200) or 4.5 ($1,400) but until the product gets established in the market (say around 6 months or so), Fauna Marin has decided to reduce the price. For the smaller 2.5 liter model your price would be $699 and the larger (4.5 liter) your price would be $899. Not to shabby yes?

Thanks Steve!

Zeovit USA Sale

2009/09/18 10:12

Brightwell NeoZeo method

2009/07/29 22:53

NeoZeo.jpg

ZEOvit
ZeoBac: 4Drops(1ml) x 7回/月 -> $8.40/月
Zeofood7: 4Drops(1ml) x 7回/月 -> $2.10/月
Zeostart2: 0.3ml/日 -> $1.08/月
Zeolite: 1L/6週間 → 2/3L/月 -> $9.50

NeoZeo
MicroBacter7: 10ml/週 -> $1.09/月
Reef BioFuel: 5ml/日 -> $3.66/月

Bad effect of Live sand?

2009/04/20 22:33
Very interesting thread in zeovit.
http://www.zeovit.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14439

And this is G.Alexander as ZEOadmin quotation
Hi Takayan, different kind of slime algae and diatoms where reported from the people having issues with this kind of sand in combination with zeovit. Not sure which kind of algae you are observing ?

I have bad slime colored red and dark brown. I am not sure it is from overdosing or bad substrate (That means it can not get along with zeovit method)

    Dear Taka~
    Which Algae do you have?

    first,2nd or third?

  3. I have the excact same problem with my tank. I've been using Zeovit for 3 months now and have massive cyano problems on my sandbed. Never had this before.

  4. I have all 3, but most of them is like 2nd picture.

    Hi Espen and Taka

    Thanks for reply.

    Luckily My slimes start to reduce dramatically. I found that especially third one were gone fastly in yesterday. First(Second)slimes are also reduced much.I will take a picture. I do not know why but I am suspicious to KH related thing.
    I checked what I have done.
    1. Dosing schedule is same that I posted to zeovit forum
    2. I add Reef Builder (Seachem) to raise KH
    3. I did water change 100liter (1/4 of my tank volume) because I dosed FWE to kill flat worm
    4. Add to 2~3mm sand on carib fiji pink partly.
    5. Others (feeding,skimming etc) are same

    Dear Taka and Espen~!
    What is your KH value?
    I will see my tank during several days and let you know. Thanks

  6. Vince,
    That's good news!
    My KH in tank is around 7dKH.
    I think that Diatom loves high KH. Please update after a couple days. It looks water change is affected the algae.

    Hi Taka.

    My tank KH is also around 7 too. So I am raising until around 8.

    Yes, I think maybe KH or Water change can solve this problem, but Not sure.

    Currently I plan to big water change 25% weekly like MR anagombe for month and check the coloration. It is not easy for sure but I will try this. Thanks

Hi Fay, I've not used it, but it's enzymes that's a dry product & according to Alexander one of the first things one notices is how clean the sand becomes. It ramps up the zeo-biology tremendously, with a marked overall appearance of the reef. Coral growth & p-e get a boost. Release date according to Thomas is ~Nov.1st. Bob

Zeovit Spur2

2008/07/16 23:55

Do you know the spur2 in KZ?

It is possible with this product to influence the amount of zooxanthellae in the coral tissue. The coral itself has more energy for growth because the zooxanthellae density requires less energy. This is possible for acropora, anacropora and montipora. The reduction of zooxanthellae in the outer layers brings out the colors of the coral from
deeper layers. ZEOspur2 is also able to influence colors. However, the primary color shown will be the color right below the layer with the zooxanthellae.
It is possible to reduce the amount of zooxanthellae so much that the coral will not get enough energy via photosynthesis. This condition can be maintained for a long period of time without damage to the coral. However, our experiments have shown that continued overdosing, and only under this condition, coral tissue will become thinner and thinner and ultimately completely dissolve. We recommend dosing every 14 – 21 days.
It is important to apply the full dose all at once or there will no be any changes. The reduction of zooxanthellae occurs within 48 hours and also reaches its highest point at that time. The reaction and, therefore, the dosing amount are different from tank to tank. We recommend starting at 50 % of the recommended amount to get a feel for the product. Subsequently, you can increase the dosing amount, not the interval, by 10% each time to find the perfect dosing amount. The maximum dosing amount is 1 ml per 25 gallons and should not be exceeded. We do not recommend the use of this product during the initial starting phase of the ZEOvit® system. There is too much change and your corals will not have enough time to adjust safely. We would like to mention at this point that this product has the fastest and most drastic impact of the whole system. The optimum dosing, in this case, is absolutely necessary in order not to damage your corals.

I dose SPUR2  4.2ml in my 100gallon Tank.

There is simply no substitute for the experience and expertise gained from the practical "hands-on" application of any saltwater aquarium methodology. Background reading is an essential part of intelligent and successful saltwater tank management, but it's not enough.

Perhaps the best way to evaluate any methodology's potential for success in your unique aquarium is to speak directly with the enthusiasts who actually use the methodology. The zeovit.com community is the online gathering place for many of the most advanced and experienced ZEOvit System users in the world.

Please feel free to post any questions that you might have. We look forward to answering your questions, and to sharing our knowledge and experience with you.

The purpose of the ZEOvit system is to easily and reliably create, and maintain, a poor nutrient environment in marine aquaria similar to a the natural reef environment. The goal of the system is to reduce nutrients as nitrate and phosphate without lowering the levels of important minerals, like calcium and magnesium, and carbonate hardness, which are also adjusted to a natural reef environment.

In order for the ZEOvit method to be successful, a few fundamental husbandry techniques and equipment components must also be included in your aquarium's design and operation. These requirements include strong and efficient skimming, lighting appropriate and sufficient for the aquarium's inhabitants, regular weekly water changes, addition of elements at low levels, non-excessive addition of nutrients, and optimum and stabile water parameters (Ca, Mg, KH, Salinity).

The five basic components of the ZEOvit system interact to effectively reduce nutrients, and establish water conditions close to the parameters corals encounter in the natural habitats. The five basic components are:

  1. A Balanced Mix of zeolites (ZEOvit).
  2. A Microorganism Solution (ZEObak).
  3. A combination of Bacteria and Coral Food (ZEOfood)
  4. Bacteria Food (ZEOstart)
  5. Constant Filtration with Activated Carbon
The reduction of nutrients and the establishment of a poor nutrient system results from the interaction between ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, and the zeolite filter media (ZEOvit).The three different zeolites of the media were chosen because of their ability to reduce certain toxins in a balanced manner. It is important to "clean" the ZEOvit filter media daily to maintain optimum performance. The filter device which holds the ZEOvit (commonly referred to as a "reactor") is specifically designed to accomplish this task within a minute. However, it is not detrimental to overall system performance if you are unable to perform this task for several days.

The interaction between ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, and the zeolite filter media (ZEOvit) produces a "mulm". The "mulm", released from the ZEOvit material, contains bacteria that is used as food by the corals. This is very important because it provides nutrients to the animals, and has a very positive impact on the colors, polyp extension and vitality of the corals. Large Polyped Corals (LPS) react with fully expanded tissue.

Certain other elements are adsorbed as well, and require replacement to counteract depletion. We strongly recommend replenishing those elements, and we offer supplements to be used with this system for that purpose.

The ZEOvit method can be successfully used with bare-bottom (BB), shallow sand bed (SSB), deep sand bed (DSB), and Berlin-style system designs. The use of live rock (LR) is not required. UV sterilizers, ozonizers, and nutrient exporting macroalgae refugia are not compatible with the ZEOvit method.

This post is just a brief review of the ZEOvit system. More background information, and detailed methodolgy instructions are presented in the ZEOvit "Guide."

http://www.korallen-zucht.de/files/z..._english-1.pdf

We strongly recommend to read and understand the guide before you start with the system. It contains vital necessary information to have success with the system.

Again, please feel free to post any questions that you might have. We look forward to answering your questions, and to sharing our knowledge and experience with you.
